Who is the Keynote Speaker?
Would be great and good Session plan.
2 Hours left i'm so excited!!!!
So can we expect new stuff or will this be like a Tech-ed? Windows release cycles need to be faster if they want to be competitive with iOS and Android.

"Redmond time" PDT http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=1244
thanks man we still have 4 hours left :/ wake up people
T he online schedule and the paper sheets handed out yesterday at registration don't agree (Tuesday 11:45-12:45 Sessions) - which one is correct???
It would be so cool if I could click a link on these and "add to my calendar".
Even so, great work.

Where is the live stram link??? aaaaaahhhhhh
For anyone asking for the live stream... live stream will be on the front page of the site (https://channel9.msdn.com) starting in about 30 minutes (8:30am PDT), keynote around 9am
@Duncanma: right now the site indicates this keynote will not be live???
Is it right to say that this page is only for the on demand streaming and that the live stream will only be on the home page and not on this page?

Yes, that would be correct
@ryanpeg: where does it say that? the keynote will most definitely be live, and on homepage only.
Yep here we go, have a good one everybody!
//build 2012
Hey guys, can you increase video quality, and it is also choppy :/
great keynote on windows phone.
Nice! very fun keynote
Those who watched the key note will have seen that OGRE was featured in the slides as one of the engines / libraries that officially supports WP8 from day one!
More information about the integration and our collaboration with Microsoft and Nokia can be read here: http://www.ogre3d.org/2012/10/30/ogre-now-supports-windows-phone-8
Spacegaier, that's awesome. Thanks for the information.
when i can get the wmv download.
Rickie, below the stream at the top you can download it now.
At the end of the video he mentioned we can register at Dev Center - Windows Store for 9 dollars or so. I have just tried to register there at it asks me to pay 37 Euro (I am from Slovakia already registered at windows phone store.) Where can I get registration code if that is required?
I am trying to register in the Netherlands that there is also costs 75 euro to join the WP store dev center. Does this 8 dollar only apply for the US?
Yup $49 dollars for me too. I am guessing either someone needs to pull a trigger. Well guys the 8 days are tickin' and I would love to get on this bandwagon.
They said it will still show the full price but you'll get a refund for the difference within 30 days. not sure if it applies outside of the US but there were many at the conference who weren't from the US so it should
Unity on Lumia 800?
Nice.
...awfull.
why does this guy have to scream all the time???
Steve Ballmer is the greatest !
Just one mistake: Steve didn't wear the blue shirt, as advised by Connie.
What Microsoft keeps ignoring is what the user needs and how he experience the gui:
- office ribbon (i am using it since Jan 2011) i am still not comfortable with it and i can demonstrate flaws in its concept
- windows phone 7 / 7.5 (mango) i was not able to directly copy a word document from the phone to my pc using Zune
- windows 8 - i am lost again - where to i have to click to open certain settings, why is the start button gone - what is the big benefit for me as a user, i have to relearn stuff without a big benefit - why
- integrated search (in win 7) where is a little dialog where i can filter better (for exmaple to filter certain filetypes, created 3 months, changed in the last week)
MSFT can call themselve lucky that apple is expensive (overpriced) and has a strange policy (lock in the user) and lack of supporting standards (blue ray).
But at least (to my knowledge) apple does not change the gui in a massive way - i would expect that apple os x will be selling stronger the next month since with windows 8 the user has a new learning curve anyway so why not take this as a reason to change the entire os.
Thanks for the videos but can Channel9 please sort out the naming conventions of their files. I downloaded all the WMV High videos using PowerShell and have no idea what most of them are (3-136_Source, 2-013R etc)
awesome
What a terrible presentation! I would expect Ballmer to show technology, or strategy, or breakthrough, not how to press buttons. And what's up with that Jessica, why is she so important for Windows 8 future, and why Ballmer spends so much time mentioning her name?? I guess because there was nothing more to tell about Windows 8..
@PhilMurray: Phil, I'd suggest fixing that in the script... the titles of the session can be widely different in size and they even change a few times during the event (sometimes the slides the speaker decides to use, are showing a different title than the one we were given), so we use the short and consistent Session Code. Assuming the powershell works by pulling from our RSS or JSON feeds, it wouldn't be hard to have it name the files based on the session titles. I'd be happy to give this a shot myself, if you can point me at a powershell script that you used.
Good overview, audio drops at ~37mi.
I guess Steve didnt have rights to use U2's song!
Best keynote I've watched from MSFT in years. I'm stoked!
@Duncanma... Thx but I ended up writing a little c# app to download and rename the files. I'm no Powershell expert
Very Nice,I don't know why but I am now loving Microsoft now...!
I think window 8 good but I dont know
good lecture
