This talk provides a brief introduction to Windows Store device apps, and points to a list of resources that are available online to write such applications. There will be a panel of Windows developers and program managers on hand, to answer questions from the audience on a wide range of issues related to their Windows Store device apps.

      I'll go ahead and ask this before the session, so it can possibly be answered during the show.

      What is the solution for serial data ( i.e. USB/RS232 ) to communicate with other serial devices within WinRT and "metro" apps? My company needs a solution like the SerialPort Class in .NET.

      @shaggygi:To access serial devices from WinRT you will need to create a custom driver.
