How do the virtual actors in Service Fabric compare to what is being offered by Project Orleans? Is there a reason one would choose one option over another?
Reliable Actors programming model is very similar to Project Orleans. The basic design principle of Virtual actors is the same and it leverages all the great ideas that went into the design of Orleans.
The main difference is in the platform that is used to 'host' the actors. Reliable Actors uses Service Fabric to make both code and state reliable (as shown in the presentation). The decision of using one vs. the other depends on various factors. I guess the main reason one would choose Reliable Actors vs. Orleans is the support model (Reliable Actors is an support product) is support is a key requirement.
May I have the Code Source. Just for a reference ?
