You’ve probably heard that JavaScript is becoming the assembly language of the web. But wait, JavaScript is getting its first major makeover in 15+ years with ECMAScript 6 bringing a lot of new capabilities focused towards writing scalable apps, including new asynchronous programming patterns. In this talk, we’ll go through some key language capabilities now supported in JavaScript engines, such as Chakra, that you can use to author scalable apps in JavaScript. We’ll also go through some of the features that we are bringing to the Windows 10 web platform to help JavaScript become the assembly language of the web, bringing predictable near native performance.
