ASP.NET 5 has an all-new project system and cross-platform runtime. In this session, we dig deep into the "what, how, and why" of ASP.NET 5. We look at how you can deploy your own version of the .NET.
When trying to follow along I was unable to get the mono runtime installed using dnvm on my windows machine.
It gives an error with the following:
The argument "mono" does not belong to the set ",clr, coreclr" specified by the ValidateSet attribute.
@Tyler, yeah. DNVM on the main branches doesn't work. I have a branch that supports Mono on Windows (glennc/shlove) but I haven't merged it yet because I don't have the corresponding change in the Linux/Mac codebase. If you use DNVM from my branch of the DNVM repo it should work.
You could switch over by downloading dnvm.ps1 from the branch on GitHub and copying it to %USERPROFILE%\.dnx\bin. Otherwise I will hopefully get it merged sometime soon and make an announcement on the announcements repo. https://github.com/aspnet/announcements
@glenncondron, thanks for the clarification on this!
I'll watch the announcements for the update, and try your suggestion.
