A few weeks ago Microsoft Chief Technical Officer Ray Ozzie unveiled a concept called Live Clipboard, at the O'Reilly Emerging Technology Conference. The main idea behind the concept is to provide for the web what the clipboard does today for desktop applications. In this session, Matt Augustine and Paresh Suthar, two members of Ray Ozzie's concept development team, will outline the what, how and why of Live Clipboard. They will show working demonstrations of the Live Clipboard concept, showing how this simple technique can help create connections between websites as well as between websites and desktop applications. Additionally, Matt and Paresh will describe how Simple Sharing Extensions (SSE), a proposed extension to the RSS 2.0 spec, can be used as part of the Live Clipboard concept to provide bidirectional synchronization of data.
