He holds a BSc in Computer Science and Earth Observational Science from Royal Roads Military College. He has achieved certifications including Microsoft Certified Solutions Master: Communications, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate, Cisco Certified Networking Professional, and Certified Information Systems Security Professional. Torren has over 20 years of IT experience, focused on voice solutions, high-availability and disaster recovery, networking, and security.
Torren coordinates and presents at the British Columbia Unified Communications User Group, is an active blogger at blog.bumpinthe.net, and an occasional tweeter @Bumpinthenet. He lives in Kamloops, British Columbia with his wife Twila and their son. Outside of work, Torren is active at the local Makerspace, and with whatever craziness his toddler is up to.
