Drew McDaniel is a Principal Program Manager Lead in the Microsoft Azure team responsible for leading the design and implementation of the Microsoft Azure compute management and runtime interfaces. These APIs are used by IT Pros, Developers and management UI, such as the Azure portal, to manage Windows Azure Virtual Machines (IaaS) and Microsoft Azure Platform as a Service (PaaS) applications. Before taking responsibilities as a program manager in Azure, McDaniel was both a Program Manager Lead and a Test Manager for the Windows File Services team. In this role McDaniel managed multiple remote file system components including SMB, WebDav Client, Client Side Caching (CSC), Distributed File System (DFS) and File Replication Service (FRS).
