As Principal Program Manager Lead in the Microsoft Azure team, Drew McDaniel is responsible for aspects of the Azure Virtual Machines Service. Azure Virtual Machine service which provide customers from small startups to the largest enterprises to run existing or new applications in the Azure fleet of servers. Drew leads the team responsible for the management APIs, PowerShell cmdlets and customer documentation for managing the life cycle of virtual machines and for supporting the Azure Marketplace for virtual machines. Before taking responsibilities as a program manager in Azure, Drew was both a Program Manager Lead and a Test Manager for the Windows File Services team. In this role he managed multiple remote file system components including SMB, WebDav Client, Client Side Caching (CSC), Distributed File System (DFS) and File Replication Service (FRS). Drew holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer and Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.
