Kim Bruce is the Winslow Professor of Computer Science at Pomona College.  He is the author of two books, a research monograph "Foundations of Object-Oriented Languages: Types and Semantics", and an introductory textbook "Java: An eventful approach".  He received the ACM SIGCSE 2005 award for Outstanding Contributions to Computer Science Education.  He aspires to bring together theory and practice into a perfect union.  He has yet to hear the triumphal blare of horns, but is has not given up hope.
