Scott Ruble is a PM Manager on the Excel team heading up the data visualization features for the next release of Office. Prior to that, he has led a variety of other projects within Office: Excel for iPad core functionality & formula keyboard, Power Map & Chart Recommendations (Office 2013), Sparklines (Excel 2010), implementation of the shared charting engine used by Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (Office 2007.) Some of Scott’s other past responsibilities include leading Microsoft’s effort to revitalize Access reporting and designing portions of the Web Part Framework in Office 2003 which is the foundation for many SharePoint pages. Before joining Microsoft, Scott managed the development and deployment of document management, customer relationship management, database, and expert systems at Dow Chemical for over a decade. Scott graduated from the University of Michigan with B.S.E degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Sciences.
