Andrew Lavinsky is a manager with the UMT Consulting Group. Based in Houston, TX and primarily serving clients in the US South Central District, he focuses on enabling organizational performance improvement. In his role as a lecturer on project management and IT governance, Andrew has worked with dozens of PMOs in every stage of development. He draws on this experience to deliver a compelling story that is relevant to all PMOs and all organizations. In the mid-90’s, Andrew was involved in the creation of one of the first official nongovernmental organizations in China. In the late-90’s, he served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in rural Mongolia; moving on to manage project delivery for Fortune 500 companies in the Chinese market. For his contributions to the Microsoft Project community, Andrew was awarded the Microsoft MVP designation in July 2010.
