Judith Owigar is a co-founder of Akirachix Association, a non-profit that empowers young women to create technological solutions as well as the founder of JuaKali Workforce Limited, an online micro-jobs platform that connects skilled manual labourers in Kenya's informal sector with short-term employment. As an influential thought leader, Judith shared a panel with Barack Obama the former President of the United States of America and Uhuru Kenyatta the President of Kenya at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in 2015. She is also a member of the Africa WeTech (Women Enhancing Technology) Leadership Council, a 2015 East African Acumen Fellow and a 2014 International Focus fellow. Judith's pioneering social and entrepreneurial contributions have been well recognized both nationally as well as internationally and was named as a Top 40 under 40 women by the Business Daily newspaper in Kenya twice in 2012 and 2009. In 2012, CNN named her one of the 10 African voices to follow on twitter. Judith currently serves as an ICT Advisor at UN-Habitat (United Nations Human Settlements Programme), Urban Basic Services Branch.
