Kurt Kramer received his Ph.D. in 2010 in computer science from the University of South Florida specializing in Image Processing and Machine Learning. He is currently working at Microsoft as a Senior Developer in the Cognitive Services Group. Prior to his academic career he worked professionally as a programmer, designer and software engineer. As a result of his career and academic research experiences he is comfortable in the research and development of new technologies as well as their implementation for practical use in industry. His latest accomplishments that combined his research and development skills include the Larcos Aquaculture Counter, a real-time trainable flow thru counter and a Plankton Recognition System that was used by the SIPPER underwater imaging platform as part of the Gulf Oil Spill study.
