Michael Zhu is Senior Director of Global Solutions and Alliances of HP’s $2.5 billion Networking Business Unit, leading global technology and vertical solutions strategy and lifecycle management across all networking products portfolio including Cloud, Data Center, WAN and Mobility. In addition he oversees HP Networking’s global strategic partnerships and OEM business, including architecting and leading a global team to build industry’s first enterprise app store (hp.com/sdn/appstore) for Software Defined Networking (SDN) applications, along with the global ecosystem developer program. With over 17 years in managing enterprise products and solutions, as well as channel and technology partnerships, Michael has previously held multiple executive positions at 3Com and Hewlett Packard with increasing responsibilities in both the US and Asia Pacific. During his expat assignment in Beijing, Michael led 3Com’s H3C (Huawei and 3Com Joint Venture) integration projects for product strategy and transitions as well as channel integration. He has also led channel sales in China, Hong Kong and Japan, and managed development of channel and technology partners across Asia Pacific. Michael’s international exposure also includes being General Manager, Yuasa Elastomer Products (YEP) of Japan, where he effectively established YEP's China operation with a newly constructed premise in Suzhou Industry Park, and transitioned two production lines from Osaka, Japan, to Suzhou, China. Michael holds an MBA from Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University, and a BS in Industrial Engineering from the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He has been a frequent guest speaker on Global Collaboration for MBA classes at Bentley University, Waltham, MA. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese with a basic knowledge of Japanese.
