Sandeep Singhal is General Manager of the Windows Networking group. He is responsible for strategy, product planning and design, engineering, and industry partnerships covering all areas of network communications, network security, datacenter networking, enterprise networking infrastructure, and network development platforms. At Microsoft, he previously spearheaded Windows initiatives in peer-to-peer communications and collaboration experiences. Prior to Microsoft, Sandeep co-founded ReefEdge Networks, a pioneer in wireless LAN security, mobility, and management products for multi-site enterprises. Sandeep was previously a Chief Architect at IBM, where he developed the IBM WebSphere Everyplace Suite and Lotus Sametime product lines. Sandeep has served on advisory boards for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the National Research Council, and the European Commission defining networking research direction. Sandeep's credits include 72 issued patents and dozens of publications, including three books. Sandeep holds M.S. and Ph.D degrees in Computer Science from Stanford University, as well as B.S. degrees in Computer Science and in Mathematical Sciences and a B.A. in Mathematics from Johns Hopkins University.
