As a Senior Cybersecurity Consultant at Microsoft, Steven Dodson visits with various public and private sector customers to assist with tactical incident response, advanced persistent threat (APT) and other malware mitigation techniques. Steven trains professional forensic incident responders and law enforcement on new Microsoft technologies relevant to computer forensic professionals. Steven is the global owner of internal security tools which are used to assist customers in mitigating common security issues such as Pass the Hash (PtH). Steven has been involved in numerous global scale cyber security incidents, and continues to work with numerous internal teams at Microsoft to refine response processes and procedures for customers. When Steven is not meeting with customers, he donates his time and experience to the Civil Air Patrol (CAP), an auxiliary to the United States Air Force. As the Information Technology Officer for CAP, Steven is responsible for coaching high school students as they learn cyber defense skills during the annual CyberPatriot competition. Steven is also tasked with designing and supporting network security and workstation deployment in the CAP mission operations center.
