Windows Embedded Compact 7 is the latest version of the Windows CE operating system. It can be used to create your own small, hard real-time OS Designs with lots options to only expose the functionality you need for your particular solution. After creating / building the operating system, you can deploy and test it on the emulator or on target hardware. In parallel you can develop applications that need to run on your Windows Embedded Compact 7 system. To give your applications a modern look and feel, you can use Silverlight for Embedded to design your User Interface, at the same time having access to the Win32 API your OS Design exposes. In this sample filled presentation, Maarten Struys shows you how to create a Windows Embedded Compact 7 OS Design, how to deploy it to the emulator and how to add a Silverlight for Embedded application to the operating system. You will learn about the features of Windows Embedded Compact 7, you will also learn how to use Visual Studio to create OS Designs and how you can use a combination of Expression Blend and Visual Studio to create Silverlight for Embedded applications for your specific solution.
