Evaluating RavenDB as an embedded database
Whenever you need to build a high-performance scalable web-based system that relies on some kind of database, you'll eventually run into a single bottleneck: the database. But systems are rarely built in a single day. They evolve and adapt to changing requirements and technical demands. But database schemas aren't that flexible. Having experienced these same problems, we evaluated and tested the use of RavenDB as a schema-less database that is xcopy-deployable and can be hosted inside other applications. In this session, I'd like to share the details of the problems we were trying to solve and the advantages and disadvantages of RavenDB. Since performance was very crucial for us, I'll share the many tuning options we evaluated and the performance resulting from that.
