The Australian Defence Force mission is to efficiently and effectively carry out the government's defence policy. The task of delivering apps and data to 100,000+ users across 300 bases and sites worldwide meant security was a priority. Defence turned to technology partners Citrix and Microsoft to make this a reality. The organization is now providing desktops and apps as a service to mobile and remote users, Defence is now considering BYO strategies to provide further mobility and choice to users as well as cost savings in PC refresh programs into the future.In this session we will cover: - How Defence determined which model of desktop virtualization to deploy - How Defence consolidated 120 datacentres into nine - Improving security and control of organizational data when staff can work anywhere
