SQLCLR Enhancements in SQL Server 2008
Play SQLCLR Enhancements in SQL Server 2008
Using .NET code in user-written stored procedures, user-defined functions and triggers was introduced in SQL Server 2005. SQL Server 2008 extends this concept (.NET code in SQL Server) to system objects. The new hierarchyID and spatial data types are implemented in CLR code, as well as system procedures in functions like change data capture. In addition the capabilities for user-written SQLCLR code have been enchanted and extended to support new libraries, new data types and more. This presentation will provide real-world examples of how your programs would take advantage of this new and extended functionality.
