SQL Server 2008 will provide support for managing spatial two-dimensional data in the context of the database. This presentation will provide an introduction to spatial database management, present the spatial support in SQL Server 2008 including demonstrations with Virtual Earth, and show how to use Spatial indexes to improve spatial query performance.
