PowerShell is Microsoft's newest scripting language, combining the convenience of a shell with the power of a scripting language. You have everything from the disk subsystem to the registry and the .NET objects available to monitor, manage and control your servers. The SQL Server team has assembled a new provider for PowerShell that allows you to navigate a SQL Server instance as easily as working with the file system. This session explains the basics of PowerShell, how you can use it to work with your systems, and also provides an overview of the PowerShell provider for SQL Server.
