This talk will provide an introduction to the architecture behind CCR and DSS as a new and powerful approach to building distributed, concurrent software. CCR and DSS, which currently ship as part of Microsoft Robotics Studio, are already used by customers in non-robotics applications ranging from business processes, major web sites, retail automation, command and control systems, scientific computing, sensor-nets and much more. Of course you can also use Microsoft Robotics Studio for cool stuff like driving autonomous cars, flying unmanned vehicles, and sailing autonomous underwater vehicles. But at the core lies a powerful concurrent and distributed engine consisting of the two components CCR and DSS that enable users to write generic applications that coordinate messages between loosely coupled components within and across nodes.
