If your Windows Mobile Device always knows where it is, you can create powerful applications making use of your current location. Since Windows Mobile devices are typically used on the road, it makes a lot of sense to add location awareness to your applications. In the upcoming future, Maarten Struys foresees location-aware applications moving beyond traditional navigation software. In this sample-filled session, Maarten shows you how you can retrieve your current location inside managed applications, making use of Cell Tower Lookup, IP Number Lookup, and GPS. He also discusses pros and cons for each of these location lookup methods. Of course he also shows a real location-aware application, based on the Bing Web Services, in action on a Windows Mobile Device.
