How to Protect Your Virtualised Environment

If you are going to put all of your eggs in one basket -- you had better have a good basket. Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM) is the backup solution for Microsoft's virtualization platform -- and in this deep-dive session we talk about why. We discuss the complexities of protecting virtual machines while they are running and how the Hyper-V VSS infrastructure provides a supported way to accomplish this. We cover how DPM can protect virtual machines, either from the host or guest level, and your decision points as to when to do each. And while we focus on DPM 2007 SP1, we also cover what is coming in DPM v3, specifically around our virtualisation protection capabilities -- including LiveMigration/CSV support and new VM/VHD recovery options.
