Our Internet browsing habits are monitored, Tweets scrutinized for subversive thoughts, personal contact information sold to advertisers as a commodity. Our personal conversations, emails, and browsing habits are no longer private. There is no doubt that the Internet and new technologies have brought the world amazing benefits, but at what cost? George Orwell once had a vision of a dark future where privacy and freedom were but a whisper. In this session, we look at the state of the security industry as a whole and ask: Is this “security revolution” a healthy one, or is it just leading us into the abyss?
