Earlier this year, Microsoft released version 2 of the Sync Framework which included significant functionality improvements, in particular new Sync Providers which allow highly distributed data architectures to be developed. Now you can develop fast occasionally connected applications (OCAs) which automatically synchronise local data with corporate data stores held in the data centre or the “cloud”. This session will show how to architect and develop a data architecture where corporate data moves out of the data centre to “remote office”, or fully mobile applications. It covers synchronization topologies, optimising the synchronisation process, addressing security concerns, using the new Providers for SQL Server and SQL Server Compact, and synchronizing with the cloud (SQL Azure).
