Customers are looking at centralizing their users' desktops and applications as a way to either lower their TCO or to increase business agility. Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and session virtualization (fka Terminal Services) are two scenarios supported by Remote Desktop Services in WS08 R2, and both have different pro's and con's from an IT and business perspective. In this session we drill down into the architecture of VDI and Session virtualisation and determine what key questions need to be asked and answered around user requirements, components, networking, capacity and end user experience and whether you are doing it for the “right” reasons.
