From Motivation to Technology - Building an EA Practice
Building an Enterprise Architecture practice from scratch can be daunting. Creating the required capability and establishing the required thinking while delivering something of value to those around you is not straightforward, especially if you target specific timeframes. This talk will cover the first 100 days and the first 100 weeks of a maturing EA practice and the role of the enterprise architect in an organisation. The stories and experience should be of interest to anyone trying to define a business or technology roadmap or bring order to the sometimes chaotic and organic evolution of information technology within an organisation. The talk will cover the identification of goals and objectives for the IT organisation (and consequently enterprise architecture) and the compromises, challenges and successes that followed from understanding the organisation’s motivations, the real needs behind an existing portfolio of in-flight and planned projects and the reality of the application and technology landscape.
