Imagine Cup and Beyond – Hear from two of our top NZ Teams

Team Estimeet_x000D_ _x000D_ Join this session to find out more about the winning idea from this year’s Microsoft Imagine Cup Innovation Category. Team Estimeet won the local Imagine Cup Competition with their social meet up application. They went on to compete at the worldwide finals and take out this year’s Innovation Category winning 50K USD and 4 weeks with Microsoft Ventures. The team will present their idea and talk through their challenges as well as next steps._x000D_ _x000D_ Team Ohiti_x000D_ _x000D_ Second place winners in the local Imagine Cup Innovation category, Team Ohiti has addressed the issue of monitoring pest-control traps that have been deployed in wildlife sanctuaries. The sensors onboard Ohiti’s smart traps upload telemetry data to the Azure cloud. This data helps paint a picture of pest activity to wildlife conservations officials, giving them the power to allocate limited resources in an effective manner. In this session the team will talk about what they learned building an IoT project completely from Microsoft based technologies. The benefits of a shared codebase from the micro-controller, all the way to the cloud. The session will fast forward through each development stage and iteration._x000D_
