MVC, Repository, DTO... applications today often compose many of the common design patterns to yield well factored application architectures. In this talk we explore the end-to-end developer experience of a Web application while using the ADO.NET Entity Framework and Microsoft ASP.NET MVC. We show you how to use the Repository pattern with the currently-released version of LINQ to SQL or Entity Framework and how to factor this in a way that allows you to move to future versions as they are available. This talk provides insight into how to build an application today with these design patterns and a glimpse into the future as we migrate this application forward to Microsoft .NET Framework 4 technologies.
