Setting Up and Deploying Microsoft Lync Server 2010 Edge Servers

Edge Servers provide for: External user connection to the Lync Server platform using the Lync 2010 client External user connection to Lync Server using the Lync Web App Federated partner connection to the organization’s Lync Server Users installing and using the meeting Lync 2010 Attendee client Anonymous user attendance in meetings and conference calls Specifically,this session discusses how to define the Edge infrastructure using the Lync Server 2010 Topology Builder,Requirements (server and infrastructure in the perimeter and internal networks) needed to deploy Lync Server Edge Servers,Using the Deployment Wizard to setup the servers,Certificate requests and assignment,DNS Load Balancing / Hardware Load Balancers,and Reverse Proxy servers. At the conclusion of the breakout,you will be much better prepared to answer customer questions and to plan and implement an Edge Server infrastructure for Lync Server 2010.
