Kickstart Your Application Lifecycle Management Using Team Foundation Server 2012

Description

Pre-Conference Seminars require an additional registration fee. If you have not pre-registered for a Pre-Con, please visit TechEd North America Registration to add this to your registration record.

Frequently, Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) finds its way into organizations through well intentioned developers taking it upon themselves to install and configure it. Unfortunately this usually leads to ad-hoc usage of the product that fails to deliver the real benefits of an integrated Application Lifecycle Management suite. In this seminar, you will walk through the setup of a brand new Team Project on TFS 2012 and then list everything that needs to be configured to get our team ready for their first iteration. This pre-conference seminar is designed to help attendees learn how to get projects started using Microsoft Team Foundation Server. The range of topics covered in this 200-level seminar have been selected to ensure attendees cover the primary areas of value in the product. Attendees to the seminar receive notes in electronic format, including the hands-on lab exercises and a comprehensive list of resources that they can use after the conference to get up to speed with TFS.

My company is currently evaluating TFS for use in our testing processes. We don't have a SME on TFS in house and it will be great to bring back information on how we can utilize it effectively.

Will this session be focused on using TFS or on running a project using TFS? I'd be especially interested in learning more about the practices and disciplines that a team should adopt in order to best leverage TFS.

Really interesting. Wish my company had splurged for Pre-Conference lifecycles.

We have TFS and use it currently mainly for Version Control, but would like to better understand how to use it for project planning and implementation as well as for testing and deployments.

Really enjoyed this seminar... I hope they upload some material here, at least the audio.

@SocratesGS: Why do they not upload at least audio for pre-conference?
