Using the Tools for Apache Cordova (TACO), Visual Studio enables you to build cross-platform apps using web standards and your development skills with HTML, CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript languages. It gives you near-total code sharing across iOS, Android, and Windows. Ionic Framework is a free and open source library of mobile-optimized HTML, CSS and JS CSS components, gestures, and tools for building highly interactive apps. When the two technologies, Visual Studio and Ionic, are paired together, they fit neatly into the JS developer workflow.

In this live Q&A event with both the TACO and Ionic teams, you'll learn about:

  • What is Ionic?
  • How do Ionic and Visual Studio work together?
  • What does the future hold with the upcoming Ionic 2 release.

We'll look at how the Ionic and Visual Studio teams made a BUILD conference app using VS Code, Visual Studio, Azure Mobile Services, Ionic and Code Push.

  • Ricardo "Rido" Minguez - program manager on the TACO team
  • Tim Lancina - Tooling developer for Ionic
  • Brandy Carney - Framework Developer for Ionic
