Writing Drivers with the WDF
The Windows Driver Framework (WDF) helps developers build better quality drivers, more quickly and easily. This session will discuss how the WDF can improve driver reliability and will provide an overview on what's new in the WDF in Windows 10. This session will demonstrate how to debug a WDF driver instigating a crash and walking through the basics of crash analysis. Topics include: Overview of frameworks: Kernel Mode Driver Framework (KMDF) and User Mode Driver Framework (UMDF v2), Major design decisions for drivers and their criteria: framework, logging, etc., Walkthrough a basic UMDF driver, Demo of debugging a UMDF v2 driver with WinDbg, and What's new in Windows 10 for WDF. Intended Audience: IHVs, Driver Developers.
