Is this to say, your provider does not charge you for how much of the internet you are using, ie they don't charge different if you visit a server in Canada or South Africa?
Perhaps his service is bundled with VoIP?
My provider is www.aliant.net. They do DSL, they do satellite TV, they do phone services, they do wireless... This type of combination is very common in Canada. I have a package that is my DSL + free long distance on my phone
line for 75$/month (CDN). My total phone + cable bill is about 125$/month, and I pay 25$/month for cable TV as well.
