    Being a manufacturer you come to understand one thing Make sure it comes off the shelf.

    Sony is making that mistake once again  Memory Stick.

    Blue Ray, Memory , Processor choice  show no regard to cost control.  They are making the assumption software will make up for the losses.  Plus Sony makes the assumption that with volume comes cost savings.  Again this is a bad Assumption.  There is a such a thing called fix cost

    MS figured it out with the last Xbox that Fixed Cost and Volume orders did not reduce cost to manufacture.  The Xbox only started making money in 2004 3 years after the launch

    The only Reason Cost to Manufacture.

    Sony did lose with Beta.   Reason COST$$$$$

    It would be interesting to see the retail price against the component total. Also the estimated retail cost after 3 years.
