    Forgot to give an example, take Google, Bing and Digg for instance, and there are much more wacky ones. Modern brands seem to go for the Zany and in your face names, is this because there are no more generic business names available, or just because of the day and age we live in? Who knows!

    @AfricanSafari: I've always thought that the availability of domain names is a big factor here; think of a new company name and then see if the domain name is available and you'll often find it isn't because some cyber-squatter registered it on the off-chance that they could sell it to someone for an inflated price.

    MeeGo was announced at Mobile World Congress in February 2010 by Intel and Nokia in a joint press conference. Its aim is to merge the efforts of Intel on Moblin and of Nokia on Maemo into one project
