    I'm going in the opposite direction, from the grade 2 shaved all over look (used to frighten my wife's friends) to a whole 2 inch head of hair.

    Well done.  It's an improvement, but if you change your mind, it'll always grow again.

    It should actually be worse on resources to run Classic on Vista. No DWM means that more work is being done by the cpu and you don't get double-buffering. So by turning on classic one could argue that you're getting rid of some of the features at the expense of system resources.
