"Microsoft has released Silverlight 1.0 to the web today, and announced that they have partnered with Novell to build the Linux implementation of Silverlight, called Moonlight. That means that Silverlight now has support on all 3 major OS platforms"

And yet the download page only has RCs. Nice *sigh*

(So not impressed; I checked out the videos on http://halo3.msn.com/videosHD.aspx - watch the ones with developers on them, the sound is so out of sync with the video and their mouth movements it's not even funny)

This seems to imply that Microsoft will be building Moonlight, which isn't really true. Microsoft has chosen to endorse Moonlight as a Silverlight implementation for Linux. Here's the full info from Miguel de Icaza's blog.
Good move on Microsoft's part, getting this past Legal. I hope there aren't any surprises in the EULA (Miguel seems to think it's ok). Will do a lot for acceptance of Silverlight as a standard. Linux fans may be a minority, but they can be a vocal minority when it comes to platform adoption.

Where's the Opera support they promised? Opera has made adjustments in version 9.23 specifically to run Silverlight, but Silverlight doesn't recognize Opera as a "supported browser".

I saw this same behavior on XP with the Silverlight 1.0 beta. But the beta works fine on Vista. Pretty sure that the beta is still active. How will the beta plugin / ActiveX control be updated?
