Ever just feel like completely pulling up stakes (wherever you are at) and wanting to move away? Right now, I do. You know...get a new job, new relationship, new living quarters, whatever.  What's the best way to completely start over somewhere else and succeed at it?

there were lots of places we visited on the road trip where i thought.. hmm let's just stay here.

nova scotia being one of them. also Maine (although its a bit spooky there - no wonder thats where stephen king lives)  Then there was new york itself - ...but we have a house.. family friends in toronto.. so that doesnt look like it will happen anytime soon

I did this when I was 18. I sold everything I owned (apart from a few clothes) and jumped the next train from the nearest train station.  Things turned out okay, but could really have been better if I had been a *little* more prepared.

I never ended up working doing what I expected to do, so I would say that - go with no expectations.

I have done this twice in my lifetime. Sold everything I owned, apartment, car and stuff and moved to another country.

First I moved to Norway from Iceland, and then to Sweden.

It's hard to move away from friends and family, and in both cases we moved back to Iceland, but had great experiences and made very good friends in both places.
