Why? I am pretty sure our company is planning to use both side by side. We have just partnered with Cisco to replace the telephony with al new Cisco gear while the engineers are also getting OCS working in the labs too to also roll out across the business.

Alright, I just read the article.....

I was left more questions than answers as I felt like I just read a commercial. Ok, Sir Gates has some new software to bring several things together. Alright. Well. ok.......

The same thing could be said for alot of people over the past 30+ years. So..... What is it? Since MS is primarily a software company, isn't this what software companies do?

The article is a bit misleading.  All it seems to imply is that the protocols would change.  Cisco, Avaya, and others make their money from overpriced hardware, and Nortel hasn't made money in ages Smiley

I suspect that since MSFT has never had a really good reputation in the hardware market1 that it'll be a cold day in Crawford before we start buying MSFT branded network switches.

1Except for it's UI devices like the mouse and keyboard.

Basically its all about "routers running VB".  Instead of super expensive Cisco hardware, run your telephony system on run-of-the-mill machines running Microsoft software, save a zillion dollars.

when adding the link - they added an extra space before the end quotation mark.  Wonder how many people never figured this out and will not ever guess the correct link

Whilst it was loading, the popuppy menu things in the middle showed Lorem Ipsum text for a short while ... I guess they were in a little bit of a rush.
