Ok I agree that when it comes to web apps and
support for all basci standers and everything
IE rocks but there are few things,  like small
things that are not included in IE.

I found this MDI browser and its really cool like
all the small things they have provided , flash anim
blocking , 1 clikc options etc. What i really like
about this browser is that it saves current opend
pages in cache so if accidently u r windows got hung
( high chances ) or u r pc shuts of and you have 10
windows open then when you open this browser next time it will ask you if you would like to reload
all the pages again. For me its very useful as i have
atlest 5 forum and news websites are open all the time.

What do u guys think about it? I hope Microsfot
checks out all this small things in these different
browsers and include more user friendly stuff in IE7.

    Smiley

Avant isn't new... its been around for the past 2 years now

    Firefox > AvantBrowser.

...Of course, this is my own opinion.

But remember, Opera's been doing ALL of that for the past 3 years.

There aren't any real advantages of Avant over Firefox... Firefox actually conforms to W3C Spec, and that's all I ever need. Avant is insecure by virtue of using the Trident engine (okay... its more secure now than it *was*, but still isn't as secure as Firefox, either by design or obscurity)

    Consider that first.

I agree as a developer its useless but avant is
daffinatly better for home user like my sister
loves it and oh may be its me but i felt like its faster and light then IE and Firefox.
so my only point was it would be great if IE
can come up with this kind of stuff also which
is more user friendly adn secure at the same time.

How can Avant be "faster and lighter" than IE? They both use the same rendering and parsing engines, Avant has more features piled into the chrome, and IE is integrated with windows and loaded upon startup.

Unless you mean you've used it too much to the point where it becomes almost permanently embedded into your prefetch dir, but you could say the same for Firefox... now it loads faster than IE on my 'puter.

Oh, and discover this thing called "read what you've written" before hiding the 'post' button, it'll make your posts a lot more coherent.

This browser kicks *! I was running Fire Fox as my default browser but there was a subtle negative impact for doing this (starting with initial app' load speed), which flared up into a strange problem with MSIE truncating it's title bar text and replacing the glyphs in the status bar with empty rectangles (this problem is hard to explain with words and I have no time right now to show a picture of this).

I am very close to donating to the Avant team! Avant + FireFox = a complete replacement for MSIE. I am sure the next OS will make such app' patching obsolete.

I am not telling you not to, but what I said
was that IE7 should have these kind of features

you see my post at C9 made them thinking now , Tongue Out

Microsoft should add tabbed browsing to IE 7, Jupiter Research senior analyst Joe Wilcox says. A feature already available in Firefox 1.0, tabbed browsing lets PC users view multiple Web pages in a single browser window. But Wilcox says it's not as clear that IE 7 needs to have a built-in RSS reader, which is becoming a popular way for users to access news sites and Weblogs. It's possible an RSS reader could be integrated with Longhorn or Outlook, Wilcox says, in which case it may not be necessary in IE 7, too.

Guaranteed way to make IE team froth with rage #1:

Say the reason you use firefox over IE is Tabbed Browsing. Go on and on about how cool tabbed browsing is and that you'll never go back to IE as it doesn’t have tabbed browsing.

Come on that’s so old. Tabs are nice and everything but of all the differences between IE and FF, it’s a minor one.

Personally I want to stick to IE but I would love to
see if this time they really think about users and
their competitors and make enhancements. May be
atleast provide options if we want rich interface
    or normal.

Windows 2000 users may find this browser pretty cool, last time I tried Avant it was an extremely early version and didnt work all that great, may be time to revisit.  Either this browser or Netscape 8 with its anti-phishing technologies and NS 8 uses the IE browsing engine as well so I can get past the old legacy web apps that require IE.

What put you off Firefox? You used to love it. What happened?

Im actually trying Avant right now.  It doesnt seem bad and it does actually look better than Firefox.  Its fast enough and does seem to function very nicely.  What I dont like is that it uses Google as the search and I like MSN Search.

    SOME NEW UPDATES COOL...

I have been testing this for a few days its not bad,  And for Windows 2000 users as long as they secure the initial IE engine they should be fine.
