    I voted!

Our community is having our polling stations in St. Paul Church. It's not a large place, but it also means no long waiting lines.

At the entrance, there were 8 people handing out last-minute materials for both sides. They seem friendly enough towards each other.

There was this dark-blonde woman who gave me materials for the republican ballot, and a very nice smile. I said "thanks."

ID validation was pretty straight forward. Look up name... make me sign... hand me the paper ballots.... Yes, we're still using paper ballots here in Hamilton Cty, Ohio. But I guess that's good w/ all the hub-bub Diebolt is getting for the e-Voting machines.

The poll workers' ages weren't the 72 year average I heard... But they weren't very far from it. Smiley

On the way out, the republican woman gave me another heart-melting smile and said to me "thanks." I answered back "thank YOU." I wish I had something witty to say... but this is pre-coffee.

Being in the south there is alot of tension out here today.  The voting station was lightweight, about 15 people and yeah, alot of McCain supporters.  I was talking to a Law Enforcement Officer I have known for years, I wont say which department, and we talked about it, he said "Who did you vote for?" I said "Obama"  I asked him, he said "McCain, we dont need no godd#$mn, african-american in the whitehouse" but used a much more vulgar term.  Classy, but not so much surprising.  Race in the southern states will still play a huge role.

I'm going after work.  Hopefully the lines aren't too long.  All these people that only vote in Presidential years ruin it for us regular voters.

Is there a nice website that has real time tracking and stuff like that? Flash or Ajax so I don't need to refresh the page...

This page should do it. It's in Flash, so I assume it does auto-refresh.

I think I'll go to bed right after dinner and set my alarm for midnight, so I can follow it on CNN at night. I love these sorts of things. Also, I'll have something to watch while waiting for Windows to finish installing on the EEE.

I'm going after work also. Although I live in an extremely blue state, I'm going to change into my McCain 08 shirt and add one more vote for the better candidate.

    McCain Palin 08!

    Voted! Obama/Biden 08

The polling place was 2 min from my apt (Redmond; school). Got there around 6:45am (opens at 7am) and out by 7:20.

This is going to be a historic one!

I feel sort-of bad for you. You just voted for Marxist Socialism in America.

Anyways, I agree with you in your last sentance. Palin becoming the first female VP is going to be very historic.

It is not about the Tax plan,
it is not about the Foreign Policy,
it does not matter for me whether we have a Black or White President in the Oval Office.

This election can be summed up in one word for me - Hope.

We hope for a better government.
We hope for a better leader.
We hope for a better life.

I don't see any "hope" in McCain and Palin.
I just hope that Obama doesn't let our hopes down.

And you base all of your hope on what? Rhetoric from an inexperienced politician with no proven track record.

You wanna buy a bridge? I have a few that I am willing to let go real cheap.

And you think that Obama will not ruin our country?

You should try getting your news from multiple sources, that way, it will not be biased.

Obama was the second largest recipient of fannie may & freddi mac. The 700 billion dollar bail out plan was because of them. That's a large reason the economy is in the shape it is.

Obama supporters remind me of the little droids that just got obsessed with Hitler and his socialist ideas. Obama droids are  so loyal to him that they fail to see and admit his wrong doings.

Vote Obama, Vote Censorship and Socialism!!!!

Only Americans could vote for a guy who calls himself "Big Mac".

McCain he do it? Will people vote NO-bama? Or will the US join under the democrats - a true OBAMA-nation?

*sigh*. I can be here all day. It's hilary-ous.
