I think if we have another version of the Internet someday, call it Internet2 or whatever... maybe there should be a website graveyard? I mean, there are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo maaaaaaaaaaaaaany "dead" websites out there it isn't even funny... and frankly, highly depressing. Personal sites that haven't been changed for years, I find those sites really depressing and I get sad looking at websites from back in the 90s still ghosting around.

Maybe I'm being to sentimental here. I don't want to see those sites "deleted" off the Internet but it would be nice to have a place, a section ...hm, maybe a new TLD where ALL websites there, 100% of them, are all active and always up to date.

When searching, people could choose : Just old graveyard section, Everthing or just in the new TLD.

    Your thoughts?

It could never happen.  The decision is subjective.

The Internet will have to remain a wild place.  The alternative is not a pretty political picture.

Hmmm......... I am not sure. There is a new trend of that. Like bearwww.com, it is intentionally so low end and look like 90s. I have been to many "new" cheap sites following this trend.

Leaving WM on 5/2018 if no apps, no dedicated billboards where I drive, no Store name.

Kind of on the same topic of archiving

    http://blogs.loc.gov/loc/2010/04/how-tweet-it-is-library-acquires-entire-twitter-archive/

"Every public tweet, ever, since Twitter’s inception in March 2006, will be archived digitally at the Library of Congress."

Makes me wonder what our great grandchildren will think of us
