    ( manip - i imagine you DO!Wink

    edit.. getting mad..(more disheartened than mad.. feels the same)

    is c9 just a left hand / to not see what the right hand is doing?

    has not ONE exec seen the many complaints about stagnation, apple whupping - and to do something about bad press..

    ill paraphrase:  forget .net everything, hailstorm/indigo, winfs, ngscb, search and everything else.

    GET AN OSX GUI KILLER OUT NOW  = aero/avalon

    I agree.  I also think Microsoft should shoot back at Apple for those idiotic posters they had when they first announced Tiger.  Like "Redmond start your Photocopiers."  Microsoft really needs to make it clear just how much more advanced Longhorn is.  I mean can you eve begin to compare Avalon to Core?  Core is basically a bunch of filters you would expect to see in Photoshop.

    Microsoft is building a NextGen OS, not just adding Utilities.

    longhorn = blackbird?

    announced:

    - ngscb
    - indigo
    - winfs
    - avalon
    - aero

    all hidden in secrecy for 3 years - then

    announced:

    - ngscb  (well really just a secure boot)
    - indigo  (moved up for xp)
    - winfs   ( removed - shipping later)
    - avalon   ( moved up for xp)
    - aero     ( crickets...)

    sigh .. so i dont even know what longhorn is anymore

    i can find files now great thanks.  A better search would be nice - but this is it after 4 years?

    Where are the moon colonies? the floating cities? the flying cars?

    Try telling that to MS's business customers, who make up a rather large portion of their sales.

    I have MSDN Universal... I don't see a download for Longhorn anywhere... where should I be looking?

    The WinHEC release is NOT a UI release. Its target audience is hardware manufacturers who want to start writing new device drivers for Longhorn. Anyone expecting pretty screenshots from the WinHEC release has not been paying attention.

    ive written many times here - that i believe everything we are seeing for longhorn is a smokescreen - or from a while back.

    <morpheus>
    I know longhorn will be great.. because that is what i believe.
    </morpheus>

    still.. no fun being called a train wreck

    Problem: This assumes people are smart and can think for themselves. A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky animals and you know it.

    I honestly don't think MS is out to make an OS X killer. You won't get many OS X users converting to Longhorn or vice versa. Mac users won't dump their hardware and Windows users won't shell out money for Apple hardware. MS's OS marketshare seems to be pretty stable through all the various OS X subversions since the XP launch.

    You think Microsoft's listening to that post Scoble made back in December that got everybody so damned riled up?
