If you’re a leader in an online group or website that helps others get more out of their PCs, and you’re passionate about consumer technology, then this is the place for you.

The Hive beta is your exclusive place on the Web to:

    • Connect with other community leaders in an exclusive environment.
    • Get insider news and information about Microsoft® Windows® products.
    • Share tips and cross-pollinate ideas to help improve your own community, and use The Hive to send your message out to the rest of the world.

A quick read over it makes it sound like an exclusive club for forum owners. The sign-up form however offers a "Member" option in the dropdown list, which is strange.

    What do these mean?

"It's Just for Online Community Leaders."
"We want to be sure The Hive is a community of your peers, so we verify all applications before extending a membership invitation"

Sounds a little elitist. Plus clicking on the damn bee just seem to take me to an endless number of hives.

I'm betting that was a conscious design decision.

How the hell can they claim to be passionate people about technology when it takes two to three days to get in?

Thats like asking "Want to buy a house?  Come back in 10 to 15 years!"

What about that other community site you participate in? What's it called? Channel 9!

Can somebody subscribe for the C9 community?
