Ok it was intentionally misleading, inappropriate, and not under my authority to do such things.

    However,

With so much serial posting going on... anyone else think its a good idea?

    It already exists.

I'm just waiting for Charles to add a Java/DotNetlet/ASP.NET IRC client to Channel9.

Grab an IRC client and head on in there and see for yourself.

You mean I have to install something?  I'm too lazy for that.  How about a nice java client.  Course then they would have to run a proxy at the webserver.

Alright alright... is anyone in there?

Mostly bots atm. One or two carbon-based lifeforms enter once or twice a day, usually by following /whois's though.

They left after the last thread about this drifted off into obscurity.

    I missed that thread.

I've added the IRC channel to the wiki... perhaps we can encourage the IRC popularity by telling people to "take it to the IRC channel" whenever a thread starts getting out of hand Smiley

So we should have "take it to the IRC channel" as every 3rd post in a thread, and probably as our signature?

But the thing is right... IRC isn't a very "Microsofitsh" thing to go and do. Naturally, it would be a propriety and closed protocol using only allowed clients and called: "Microsoft Interpersonal Communications Server"

    Ok folks go here:
    http://www.pjirc.com/chat/NormalApplet.php?nick=typeyournickhere

    Type click yes.

Click disconnect (it goes to the wrong server)

    Type /server irc.efnet.org

    then /channel channel9

    ... good luck. Smiley

REMEMBER:  You may need to disable that third pary ANTI-VIRUS firewall.  (SP2 correctly asks you to give IE access to access the internet if you use the SP2 firewall)
