I got impatient and updated through the Chevron updater (should have waited Sad ).  The ohone reboots did take an absolute age.

What worries me is the phone is showing this... like it's expecting me to plug it into the computer... while it's already plugged in... I'm starting to think MS cannot do consumer stuff right

OK it's been 10 more minutes than the 20 they said the whole process would take... I'm cancelling it...

    Thanks a lot MS...

While, I'm on this b*tching train... Does the Zune team think it's hipster ironic cool to make UI elements so small?

    F*ck you Zune

    @Minh:

I agree, that't one reason why I don't like Zune. But, it is no surprise as Zune started when MS's most stuff were in tiny font land, including their website, tiny fonts.

Also I don't like the Zune integration with WinPh, just so half-assed in UI organization. Like seriously you have to click settings for that? That's settings for Zune, not WinPh. It is more appropriate to click Phone, then, settings because it is Phone Settings, not Settings Phone. Just simple English and you know which is more appropriate.

Leaving WM on 5/2018 if no apps, no dedicated billboards where I drive, no Store name.

Yeah, I found the settings thing confusing too, for the same reason.

@magicalclick:If you click phone and then settings it takes you straight to the phone settings page.

It's a pretty straightforward way of organizing based on tasks rather than software vs. hardware.

You have either content or settings.

Within content, there are 5 pivots:

quickplay, collection, marketplace, social, device (phone or Zune)

Within settings, there are 3 pivots:

software (i.e. Zune desktop software), device (phone or Zune), and account (i.e. Zune account)

What's annoying is that there are a number of other little tweaks and fixes that aren't in any of the official update notes. You have to go digging around in tech sites to find everything. Apple would have turned this minor update into a hundred bullet points. Microsoft doesn't need to go that far, but a more comprehensive list would be nice.

I got my HTC Arrive today, it didn't come with donuts.

I updated my Focus in the morning. The February update took me around 15 minutes, the March one took a full 20 (because it needed to back up everything too).

    Some thoughts:

I still don't see the urgency for copy and paste. I understand there are times in which you would need to use it for quick sharing, but on an everyday basis...I don't see myself using it. I'm curious as to how people use it and whether it was worth the whining.

(Actually, being able to highlight items to delete is in fact helpful)

Apps do load a heck of a lot faster. Any sort of "loading..." takes half the time now. Because search now only searches specific categories in the marketplace, searching for stuff is much quicker.

Update went fine... but then NoDo is a separate update? SMH

How many people will install Feb and thought they'd be done. Remember we're talking about the avg consumer here

@MasterPie: yes, it's not a killer feature. I must have used it two or three times, tops, since NoDo happily landed on my phone a couple of weeks ago.

This said, there were a couple of occasions, before that, in which I did miss Copy & Paste: for instance when someone sent an email or an SMS with some contact details I needed to copy to my contacts. Using a paper napkin as some kind of "makeshift clipboard" obviously worked just fine and I suspect that was even faster than going back and forth between screens. Yet, it felt kind of odd...
