But keeping the CarPhone Warehouse stores.

Shame it isn't the other way round - we have way to many phone shops over here.

I don't buy phone at best buy in USA anyway. But, it is kinda sad indeed.

Leaving WM on 5/2018 if no apps, no dedicated billboards where I drive, no Store name.

The UK has Best Buy? I've never seen one. I've been to a few in the US, they're identical to PC World except even more expensive...

All these stores work like a cartel with price fixing throughout anyway

And nothing of value was lost.

They bought Carphone Warehouse and used that to set-up some big-box stores a la PC World/Currys, but they just couldn't compete with the incumbents.

I'm surprised to see them go so fast.

Future Shop, a Canadian company, opened stores in the U.S.A., and then they closed them.

Then Best Buy bought Future Shop, and Best Buy incorporated Future Shops online way of doing business. Both stores still operate in Canada, and sometimes across the street from each other.

I now buy most of my computer goodies from NCIX, which recently opened a store near me, and seems geared more towards the tech enthusiast do-it-yourself person like me.

@Ray7:All of them, my local opened up in Bristol (Cribbs Causeway) a few months ago.  It has to be said that the local PCWorld/Currys upped their game in response.

Best Buy pulls out early. I didn't know they were Catholic. Wink

Sorry. It had to be said.
